This weather has been making Fridays go by sooooo slowly the past two weeks.  One more week of regular hours and next Friday our summer hours start and we get off at 3:30. Heaven.  I realize I have been post light lately which isn't indicative of what we have been up to.  Since last posting we have:

*Painted the shed

*Given a trunk load of items away to the Salvation Army (yay our battle with clutter is currently in our favour)

*Gardened like gnomes (gnomes who pull weeds like crazy)

*Started planning out the disaster of a basement

*Decided where we/totally just G, are/is going to dig the horseshoe pit

*Lots of homework and other things too boring to share

I will take some pics this weekend, and I promised Annie that I had a few new recipes to share so I will post those next week too.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying this amazing weather!

It was definitely worth it!

All the work we did getting the house ready for the shower was so totally worth it. Saturday was an awesome day spent with friends and family and we were totally spoiled!  Erin and the rest of the bridal entourage and mothers put some serious work into organizing a truly beautiful day.  I was pretty overwhelmed to put it mildly.  Garret stuck around for a little bit running some last minute errands and eating some of the snacks and telling me which goodies to make sure to save him for later. He made short work of all the leftover desserts. When I complained he claimed he was doing his part to help with operation wedding dress, however I think he is just obsessed with Ellen Pike's baking. And Megan's chocolate chip marshmallow cookies. And Erin M's crazy gooey skor dip. And Ashley's Kahlua cookies/cool whip stuff...the list goes on. (I may or may not have eaten all of Emma's cheesecake stuffed strawberries and my Mums lemon shortbread thingys...drool)    I think it really drove it home that we are getting married soon weeeeeeeeeeeeeee/

Char and Ashley took a bunch of pictures, but I havent put them all on my computer yet. But here are a few:

Yard workin' it

It was a really nice day on Saturday so we finally got outside to begin to tackle the garden. Char helped show me what things I could cut off (winter dead growth) and now the yard is looking a lot better! We raked, pulled, trimmed, fertilized and seeded. Then we had a pretty smokey campfire to burn all the twigs from the backyard. It's great having all the tree cover/shade in the summer---but it sure makes for a mess in the spring.
